We’re excited to be hosting the Rendezvous for the third year, and this time in a new location! The Chinquapin group campground is situated just outside the Oregon Caves National Monument and is 12 miles from the town of Cave Junction.
There are many dirt roads and trails from this camp that provide ample opportunity to explore this area which include the Red Buttes Wilderness area. Although it is not too far from the Rogue Valley, the ecosystem in the Illinois Valley feels different as it is closer to the coast. There will be 2-3 routes planned but not marked (just like the Honey Badgers) that will vary in difficulty but will be best for a gravel/adventure bike. There is mountain biking nearby but we will not be leading any mountain bike rides.
This years event will be a little more DIY, as there will not be any food provided and the venue is more rustic. The campground does have potable water and bathrooms, but no showers and no electricity.
Entry will be $15/person (early registration, $20 after 9/4) for the weekend and will include beverages. As in years past, proceeds will go to The Maslow Project.
